About Us

The Kingston School of Music has been thriving in the downtown community for over 30 years offering the highest quality music instruction and performance opportunities for ALL ages. Professional teachers, who are actively involved in music throughout the community, offer private and group lessons plus instruction for bands and ensembles in the daytime and evenings.

Students are encouraged to try out a lesson and borrow an instrument to see if it's for them. There is big appeal in the wide variety of teaching styles and genres that are available: pop, folk, rock, blues, jazz, country, classical and more. Students can learn just for their own enjoyment and/or to prepare for festivals or music exams.

The Kingston School of music hosts student coffee houses, summer music camps, workshops and offers quarterly student recitals for all instruments, ages and stages of ability. Opportunities such as rock band recitals are held in a club environment where students experience performing on stage with full sound and lighting facilities in front of a captive audience.

Exciting new program partnerships with Queen's University, the City of Kingston, and the Live Wire music organization has expanded musical outreach and opportunities throughout the Kingston community. Come and visit and see what the Kingston School of Music has to offer. Call (613) 548-1021, stop in at 162 Division Street (near Princess Street) or explore their web site www.KSOM.ca. Prepare to be inspired!
